How long do you leave a TENS unit on for low back pain and hip pain? Is there a limit to how long to keep on? - hip pain and herpes

I had pain in my lower back both sides, on the left hip and buttock radiating to 2 months. I just started to use a TENS unit today with limited training. How long can I go?
